Was looking to get an opticool head gasket for my Viper. Just wondering which companies people have bought this from. I heard bad delivery rumors from the only one I can think of that has it.

I got mine from bender with no problem in three days. Yea i know there is a thread going on this website about them. Some people have very good luck with them and others haven't.

Has anyone compared compression before and after adding the opticool? Just curious if it is thicker than the stock headgasket.

Odd that you mention that. My compression is down on all three of my vipers after changing to opticool. At first i thought i did somthing wrong when i first changed mine but it ran fine and it was down about 5 psi on each cylinder. So i thought maybe just my guage. Then when i checked my wifes and daughters post opticool exact same results. Down about 5 psi on each cylinder. So based on that i would say it is thicker, never dawned on me to check sise by side before installing. Indirectly this should also help with detonation i would think??? Not sure thinking out loud on that one. Chris

check the squish before & after install. Hard to get an accurate thickness measurement on that style gasket, especially if it not compressed. I removed the middle layer on my opticool last year. .010" steel shim. I believe they are .030" installed thickness. Not posative on that tho.

I ordered two on Monday 11/14 and received an e-mail that it shipped on Tuesday. So I guess we'll see.

OK, that is what I was guessing. I think Bender designed this with the idea that people who used it would be running pipes. The compression does need to be dropped a bit on the center and mag side when running pipes anyways. When I ran the CPR's I used an aftermarket Speedwerx head with even compression around 135 psi per hole. My stocker normally runs high 120's on the clutch side and around 140 on the other two with the stock head gasket.
