why on earth is a barrel of crude climbing??With the slow down in economies around the world..you would think less fuel is being consumed. This is going to make for an expensive riding season and less of it more likely for me.We are 21 cents higher a liter now compared to last year in November. The pump prices will be going up again soon it seems. What a bunch of greedy thieves I say.Just can't figure out this world anymore..never catch a break with them money hungry jackazz's. You would think for the amount of $$$ they pull in that maybe somewhere around xmas they could drop the price in half as a good jester and as a thankyou for us being raped by them for the rest of the Year Guess they have to have them Gold plated Mansions ..my 2 cents worth today........

Yup lol A group of rich people getting richer and were getting robbed. Kinda sickening actually it goes for the price of beer and cigs as well. Inflation is way high. When I got my first job min wage was 5.75 an hour you could get cigs for 5.50 inc tax, a 6 of beer was 6.70. the prices are more than double but min wage isnt its just gonna get to the point where we are slaves and we work just for a place to eat and stay.
It raises because the people who control it, can, ya know.
With America pulling our troops out, it'll be even easier for them to raise the price per barrel in that area.
My 2 pennies is lower your own carbon foot print. Own a more fuel efficient vehicle etc.
Can't seem to control them so we gotta curb our fossil fuel use ourselves.
I say this and I haul fuel for a living..... And believe me, I'm not making that much off the fuel that goes in the ground. Out of 8,700 gallons which is what I normally haul per load, I make $40-$100 a load. The loads ran out to the middle of know where are the money makers and the price at the pump reflects it, slightly.
We as a planet absolutely must lower our fossil fuel usage, it's just how it is.... America has shown the world that even if you jack the cost up, we'll still purchase it. We will change the way we operate in the rest of our lives, but we won't lower fuel usage by much.
Hell, a lot of us like to live in the middle of know where and have no choice but to spend a fortune on fuel to commute. Price to pay for paradise

Okay, so we lower our carbon footprint by purchasing a battery operated vehicle..... guess what the carbon footprint is still there only moved to another section... now they'll have you by the balls again by raising the cost of electricity... and then they (the govt) will complain that our consumption of the fuels to heat our homes needs to be rationalized better... It will NEVER end... All you have is some RICH Bast**d dictating how YOU should live and they continue on with their set ways... Sorry but had to rant.milo303 said:It raises because the people who control it, can, ya know.

I am sure there are a ton of people out there feeling the same way..It is becoming a world of 2 categories ...the poor vs the rich and it is that simple.Of course the rich don't care what the price of fuel is when they are driving their hummers do they.....the middle class seems to be vanishing bit by bit..

$4.19 for Diesel here around Detroit at Speedway(Total gas). Paid $3.239 for the cheapest unleaded to fill up my van for a road trip tomorrow... Damn If I were to go and buy race gas its only a couple of bucks more.. lolottawaair said:just filled my truck monday. $145.00 fuel light to full. $4.09 a gallon for deisel. Why it go back up ???
I remember when the gas prices got out of control a couple of years ago, that I was at the pump filling up saying to myself that I was paying about the same price for torco and or Turbo blue.

I continue to wonder why we are not drilling here in the US. We have some of the largest supplies of oil beneath the Rocky Mountains right here in north America. Heck, even if they just come up with the plan, and give the go ahead to, everyone out there currently pumping would cut their prices to a tenth of what they are getting now just to keep business.
But there are too many that for whatever their reasons are, will not allow it here.

Big Oil pays the environmentalists to get in there and do their job of making sure that not one tree or one bird is harmed. There is tons of Oil but will not get tapped big time...politics.red tape, etc. The bigwigs love their lifestyle..why on earth would they allow that to be destroyed.Money is their GOD!!! People mean nothing to them..just buy buy buy more gas...

I'm fully aware of the backlash of battery operated cars...
I said more fuel efficient, not battery operated.
My opinion is we need to get away from fossil fuels for fueling our vehicles.
My opinion is solar and water to fuel our vehicles. We can't use straight water because we'll smash our oceans.
Basically we need to use less of everything except birth control

I think natural gas is the way to go. But the cost to make it available at say a gas pump is crazy. If I could only convert to nat. gas, then set up a tap off my house meter to fill my car.

Greedy investors and speculators. The driller or even the oil company does not set the price for a barrel of oil. It is the Wall Street investor/speculator's who bid up the cost and actually set the price. We currently have such a reserve of oil, no actuall reason for the increase but for a run up in price. The price will fall next week but no very far. Bidding will end on Wed just before thanksgiving at a slighltly lower price, but not many shares will be sold. Investors are hoping for an increase for the holidays, Hey they bought low and will sell high, some will get caught and loose, but most will gain. We on the other hand are the real loosers in this game. Sad Al

the vision that is told out here is that some bigwig is sitting in his office on the 25th floor and saying to himself "I wander what I should make the price today" and he pushes a few buttons on his laptop and he makes millions more for that day and it puts a smile on his face how he can screw us even more.I like the fact that the Occupy movement today in NY wants to try to shut down Wall Street..power to them.I think these protests will soon start becoming violent and the tactics the Police are using isn't helping. My daughter out here has gone to the Occupy movement here and does not believe in the way the World is going either..

Milo my statement wasn't aimed to start an argument with you or to seem as if I was trying to degrade you. "IF" it came across that way..... I just had to vent, as like everyone else in our lovely economy it just seems as my hard earned coin is taking me less far every day. I have thought of different ways and have implemented a couple to try to reduce my daily expenses.milo303 said:I'm fully aware of the backlash of battery operated cars...

There is an issue when and if everyone gets a more fuel efficient vehicle, they will drive more and the fuel consumption will rise again to near levels of where it is now and on the flip side you will have "supply and demand" - oh now we have a stock pile of gas so we can cut production and then when we cut production it will cost more to produce a gallon of gas (bean counter thinking), or another scenario is well we have gas and abundance and you need it??? how much money ahve you got???? almost just like the what is happening now...
I watch a show called "Black Gold" on Tru tv network and they show how the roughnecks bust their azz's and the "rig owner/investors" try to estimate how much money and profit(in the milliions) that the well that cost them $250,000 to drill will make them (simple businesss really). I realize that there alot of hidden costs that dont show (like the cost of the equipmnet and up keep). But the point is and I am not defending them one bit is "everyone is out to make money", it jsut the guys like us that are stuck in between.
Oh, btw there was a gentle man(inventor) that had an idea for vehicles to run on water(hydrogen) he mysteriously died.... I can only guess why... Oily bast**ds...
JUST MY OPINION and by NO means to be arguementative. Bandit

They do have natural gas powered vehicles but they (i guess) are not all that popular, I know our local Schwanns truck is cng powered... A guy that I work with had a cng vehicle, but I don't know how efficient it was... then you have issues with the dealers knowing how to fix the fuel systems.... You know us guys on here need to bad togeter and come up with some fixes and start to bite into the big wigs profits- chuckle...ottawaair said:I think natural gas is the way to go. there were even guys 20 plus years ago who invented carbs that could get 100 mpg. They tested it on a full size Chevy pickup yet...what happened to these guys.I personally know of a guy who told me this story from Alberta where this was tested and that the guy he talked to was bought off to keep quiet. He said the guy went instead and opened up a convenient store with the money and has lived a very happy life. Can't say who and where exactly. There's more to this story but can't say more..don't want someone to come knocking at my door and take my knees out..I told this person to watch his mouth to..and if he reads this..he will remember our conversation.Things have changed since we talked candidly years back....
