Hi. I was wondering if anybody could help me with some piston questions?
I just picked up a used jug and piston for my 97 xtc off ebay. The jug seems all good but the piston seems to have a smaller hole on the intake side then the one i took out. Is this piston maybe from a lower horse motor? Im thinking whether weisco or oem or whatever they should have the same porting on the piston, correct? Thanks for any help.

600 twin.......600 triple
Ya its a twin. Jug is the same but the one piston has a half inch hole on the intake and the other a much bigger rectangle hole in the same place.

Is mabey the EBAY jug a triple.
I just looked at a factory piston and it has the small hole in it, so the rectangle must be a mod of some sort.
Yah a mod maybe ? I was thinking the same. If you look inside the piston where the small hole is there is an exact rectangle shape as my other two pistons.
So, if I order two oem pistons they are going to show up with these small holes?

you'll have to have someone machine the other piston to match. easy job on a bridgeport. my 780 pistons are the same way
So i guess it would be a terrible decision to run the different pistons?
I dont have a milling machine but i do have a die grinder and a lot of patience.

you could probably do it on a drill press too. but honestly, a machine shop will bang it out in minutes. I dropped mine off thinkin it would be a few days and he called me before I got home. turned around, went back, $25
