My daughter got her first deer opening day youth gun season. In the morning we saw a small basket 5 point chase a doe by us followed by a large 7 point buck on thier trail about 10 mins later, but they were 80 yds away and she didnt feel comfortable with the shot. After lunch, we returned to the woods and we saw this doe slowly poking thru the woods. Kaylee placed a perfect heart shot on this doe at 20yds with her 20 guage shotgun. She was super nervous and a little bit scared of the guns recoil, but she smoked that deer. It didnt move 10ft from the shot.
After the shot she said "I never felt the gun, it was like shooting a .22", I replied thats becasue you had adrenaline thru your veins....lol!! I am super proud of her for 12 yrs old she has proven to me she can actually sit still and somewhat be patient in the woods. Its time like these when you get to share this stuff with your kids that makes life so grand, nothing else really matters in life except family when it comes down to it. Way to go Kaylee! !
