i have a vmax4 800 and i just had the carbs all cleaned and set. put them back on and there is still gas pouring out of the vent tub while its running. anybody have any ideas what could be wrong. thanks

You could disassemble carbs again and lightly push the float up and blow through the hole where the gas line hooks up on that carb and if you cant blow through it when it is up then it is working.
You may have bent the tabs on the float to the point that it doesnt go up enough to stop gasflow. Check your float height while your in there good luck!

GREAT RESPONSE. 3:16 (yammie tony)............................l have had the same problem on several carbs and it has been one of these two things.
1, The o ring around the throttle valve body is perished.
2, The villion tip on the throttle valve is perished.
Stuck float will also make fuel come out of the vent tubes aswell.
l think modern gas probably likes the soft rubber bits in the carbs.
Be very carefull pulling the engine over it can be very easy to bend a rod with a jug full of gas.

There is no gas filling up in the cylinder which is a good thing. Just pouring out the vent tube
