Anybody up yet in northern Michigan? Need a report..

Buddy drove over from Milwaukee for the weekend and brought his sled. Is it even worth driving up towards Grayling or Gaylord?? We really want to ride, but if we are just going to get wet and dirty, forget it. Is there any snow to ride up that way?? Need to know asap, so if your up, please post.

The rain last night knocked the heck out of the snow & not calling for more till sunday. North of 28 in Upper is good!

they are up there right now , they were leaving from lewiston and going north until there was no rain and good snow , dont know were they ended up but they are going to call me tonight and then i will call you ...they were thinking seney ...

Bad bad news up here, It's got to be 50 out with a warm Tropical breeze out of the south right now & a beautiful blue bird sky.
 
hey guys north of 28 sucks too. had awesome snow now its 50 and rained last night, calling for cold and snoww later tonight

I talked w/my buddy up in Grand Marais @ noon & he said the same but also said the temp was dropping bigtime. They are in a storm watch for tonight. It's so windy up here I think the bridge would have to be closed.

johndee.com has some good cam shots of what its like up there now, I like the one just south of G.M.
 
Just came back from Traverse City - 55 degrees - no snow in the whole lower pennisula - reports from the U.P. are simular - in the 50's and snow is melting fast - suppose to turn cold New Year's Day and start snowing from about Houghton Lake north - keep your fingers crossed!
 
well guys i live in newberry, and i got to tell ya the conditions are not good at all!!!! supposed to get some snow tonite and tomorrow, but dont know the exact amount ( hopefully alot)i will keep ya posted, but i went on a ride yesturday to trout lake and it was whooped out beyond belief!!!!!!! still sore, and just to let ya know about 8-10 miles before you get to trout lake the trail is kinda washed out!!!! about a 4 foot trench, its dangerous if you hit it with any speed at all
 
My brother just came back from newberry today. Better wait until some more cold weather and storms hit. He had to ride through a stream to get back to the hotel.

They had to trailer the machines around some also. 2 others that went on this trip gave up early. Glad I stayed home.

I was in atlanta until tuesday. The trails towards lewiston were ok, but traffic chopped them right down. Started bringing up rocks. Spent a while replacing broken or bent studs, and cleaning my undercarridge. Wait until there's a base, and 8 or more inches on top of that. I heard gaylord was a whoop fest, I didn't go all the way there. Ran into too much brown snow, so I turned around and headed back towards atlanta. I'm itching to go riding too, but there's no sense in tearing up your machine. ;)!
 
Well Newberry is just south of "the snow belt" up there... what about the area between Seeney and Grand Marais?? Paradise???
 
From what I heard not much better. If they get hit with some showers it may be ok. From what I understand there were even some bare spots by seeney.
 
We rode the Paradise area on Saturday. It wasn't bad riding towards the Rainbow Lodge, but still some areas of sparatic dirt. Trail to the falls was passible but alot of wet spots.

Need more snow and cold temps to freeze over the swamp area's.
 
I was just told by my friend who got back last night that the Adams Trail, 888, and 88, and 8 are not bad at all, especially since it got a little colder up there yesterday and today. He was up there the entire week, said it was busy.
