Wont work like that use a small ratchet strap as staggs says and pull the rear down untill the axles measure 24/3/4 apart than insall in sled.
.
.
I have the uncoupled skid so do I still need to do this?

Well that drawing wont do you any good. Its for a 121 install. You need the summit axle meashurments and drill your sled for that takeing into acount the rear axle differance from the skid you took out.

Team I'm going from a 136 to a 144 now. So what exactly do I need to measure? Should I line up both skids next to each other and measure what?

Both skids side by side with the rear axle adjusters right off and the axle right to the front and lined up with each other.
Thats the rear axles lined up side by side measure the differance from the top axle mount on the short one to the differance that the long skid will need to bolt up.

Then just mount the rear and measure the distance between the mounts for the front?

staggs65 said:sounds about right. I think mine were 25 and change center to center cause I had the skid with the ear off the front cross-shaft that actually is the tunnel mount. but basically the rest the same.
also I have this tunnel, all polished, set up for the sc10III for sale if anyone within driving distance is looking to do this.
just getting around to put in susp, mine has ears of the front to, if you dont mind what is your measument from the front hole to new back hole you said in a post it was 25 and change, how do you like your susp thanks really app it

here's a quote from MRSLED page 4 of the second link I gave you
my measures were all the same as his from the donor sled mine came from except mine measured 25 1/4" c to c
What has been posted is only good for SCIII that do have a cross shaft front arm. We installed a SCIII in a srx from a Rev and you will need to grind the front brackets and move them forward to maintain a 25 1/2" center to center with 1/2" preload.
Front holes are aprox 8 3/4" from drive axle, 4 3/4 down from inside tunnel, 25 1/2" on center with 6 3/8" down in the rear.

sounds good, did you have to shim front mount? to me looks like there will be a gap even with the extentions in the skid? going to finish up install tomorow, but still no snow out here to test.
