Will RX1 skis fit an Srx?
If so what new mounting hardware do I need?

AS LONG as you have the saddles they will fit rite on there ..but keep in mind the rx1 skis will drop your front end down a inch or so olny problem os if you are hard on the gas it will bring the front end up and steering wont be as good when hard on the gas until you let off it and front end drops back down ...i had made a alumnium spacer about 1 inch thick to go under the saddle to help correct this problem ...also you can remove the shock mounting bracket turn them upside down and swap the left one to the right side and right side to the left side ...
Spacer
What shape was your spacer? 1" thick by what dimensions?

I have RX-1 skis on my '98 SRX and just used the stock saddles and had them machined to fit on the RX-1 skis. The only thing is that the stock saddles were shorter in length, so the outside bolts to the carbides did not go through the saddle. But I just left the spacers in the skis and ran the nuts down to the spacers.
Yamahead when you say flip and swap left to right the shock mounting bracket are you talking about top or bottom mount?

The mount on the sled for the top of the shock
Okay I am confused Yama says stock saddles fit edunn says you have to machine the stock saddles..guess I wlll check it out tonight and see if it fits..

I was responding about what brackets to flip over

Hopefully this helps....please see pics below. But the RX-1 saddles are shorter and do not have the riser like the stock SRX saddles. ('98 should be the same as '99) I just slotted the holes in the stock saddle from my '98 SRX and fit them on the RX-1 skis. The outside studs on the carbides did not go through the stock saddle as the RX-1 saddle is longer than my '98 SRX. But then I just kept the spacer in the ski and put the nut on the stud for the carbides.

Looks good DK, thanks for the great pics. So when you say slotted it looks like the stock holes "connect" to the new holes you drilled...has that held up? seems like it could come loose with pounding on the trail?

I have not used these on the trail but they should hold up, there are still washers under all the nuts and they are nylok nuts. Another thing is that the studs are on the outside edges of the holes, so really the saddle should not move. Before this year I just used the RX-1 saddles, which dropped the front end but also the back of the ski would rub the trailing arm. That is why I switched to the stock saddles, but you can do what YA*MA*A*HEAD said and put a riser under the RX-1 saddle.

I had these skis on my srx and it handled awesome, the keel is much deeper and lets the sled carve in alot more. The lowering of 1 inch didnt hurt me 1 bit but I am not a 'jumper' kinda guy. The suspension still has the same travel its just 1 inch of ground clearance but the way I have my skids set up with a little bit of "sit in" it was perfectly fine.

kinda confused, From what I know from off road racing. The shock collar, threaded ajusters control ride height. So if you watch the yamaha proaction vid. (Seems they want the front suspension to have 4 1/2 inches up travel from rested. Maybe we need to start comparing ride heights. After watching video I had to take my front collars up 2 inches to get 4 1/2 inches up travel. (droop) After I had to reset rear. Now It sits lower And feels softter.(better) Need snow.
(my 03 rx1 mountain skis sit the same height as my old skis did. the 1 inch keel raise to reg height)
Measure ride height at bumper, lift till skis start moving off ground.
should be 4 1/2?
but watever, jack em up

Not being funny but "what?" The travel dosent change its the ground clearance like mrviper said. Not sure what you mean? Sounds like you adjusted your preload to compensate for travel?. If so thats a bad ride down a wash board on a skateboard.

I guess I was trying to say why not just move shock collars down an inch to regain ride height, but you would lose 1 inch of droop.
So what,s a good ride height.front/back. How much up travel in front? My sled was set up with only 2 1/2 in front. but after watching video I changed it to 4 1/2. ( I needed to lower sled 2 inches to acheive) I would measure
mine but my sleds in a trailer in never land.
I think the correct term is droop? I have 4 1/2 inches like video shows.
I,m gonna try like yamy wants, but if I' bottoming out a bunch I'll jack it back up. Longer shocks would be key, like 3or4 inches
Need snow!
Sorry,bored,no snow in sight!

Thanks DK and Viper, sounds like I am going to go the route of drilling the SRX mounts, because these RX1 skis didn't come with the RX1 saddles anyway.
When you say "leave the spacer in" I am assuming you are talking about the stock SRX rubber spacer, and not the 1" riser in the saddle (because that is aluminum and built into the SRX stock saddle).
Since I don't have the stock RX1 saddle to measure, any chance either of you have the spacing dimension between the 2 inside holes in the saddle from the 2 outside holes? (center to center)
Thanks!

Ahh that makes sence. Yea alot of guys flip the shock brackets to gain that inch back like someone mentioned. Your on the right track. Sorry if i sounded harsh, no intent at all. Came out wrong via written word. Chris
I think I realized why I was having so much time understanding how to fit these SRX saddles into the skis I have...
That's because they are 2005 RX1 skis, which had "saddleless" design with the saddle made of the ski plastic and molded right into the ski.
With that being said, is there anyway to use these 2005 RX1 skis with the SRX?
If not, I think I am back to the drawing board. I wanted to try these because the price was right (FREE)
Any recommendations on less expensive skis for the SRX that will improve floatation but won't cost a fortune in mounting hardware?
Thanks!

Not sure what else you could try....does the skis even bolt onto the SRX spindle? If they do you only lose 1" of ride height. I would just check the clearance of the rear of the ski to the trailing arm.
The only other thing is to possibly change to a Viper trailing arm? maybe? but I am not sure.
Good luck and let us know how it works out.
