Viper shocks will work, alot of people do that. You'll need to remove the old shock mount and install the top mount bushings that the Viper uses, they just press into the holes on the bulkhead. You'll see what I mean when you pull up a microfiche to order the bushings, or when you take off the old top shock mounts. Some people say they just use washers for that top bushing, but I would recommend the rubber bushing from Yamaha, they weren't that expensive, I think I paid about $7-8 a piece for them.

are they exactly the same, like can i put iq440 springs on them? How much do you want for them?

I was told by the guy that rebuilds my shocks that they are exactly the same, with exception that the springs might have different colors.

Thanks! I just got a pair off coles with the 440 springs already on them. but what did you guys pay for the viper/sxr top shock bushing? I nearly shit bricks when my local yamaha dealer told me it would cost me $17..... EACH!
What do the IQ440 springs do for you?

Havent received shocks yet but they are stiffer so there will be less sag which means more ground clearance and more travel.
Exactly what he said.

The dealer by me (Waldoch Sports) had them for about $7 a piece. Port Yamaha also has them for about that.
