How anal are you guys when it comes to nuts/bolts and things like rivets that get rusty and well just worn looking? I have my SRX stripped down in the engine bay now replacing tie rod ends and some other odds and ends that I didn't get done last year, jackshaft bearing etc.I am on my hands and knees looking at any of the rivets in the engine compartment for ones that are loose to change and any that look tike crap too.Bolts and nuts are the easy part as I have lots of them in stainless thanks to a bud that works at the local pulp and paper mill ;)! .I just wonder if I'm the only one that goes this far or what?

I am probably worse than you in this area. I boought a used 2000 SRX which was in very good condition, fairly clean. I started taking parts off it a little at a time to clean them up then ended up taking the entire sled apart. I stripped the original plating off every fastener and had them replated. I am in the process of assembling the sled now, long process.

can't really see myself doing this. You can clean the engine bay the best you can only to find out next season it is dirty as heck all over again..it never ends...

you got that snow thing right..lol..I am just getting a little to depressed waiting for snow already when it should of been here nearly 2 months ago.I am slowing down on doing things on the sleds now.As long as they run and go is all I need.As I get older, certain things aren't as important anymore as it used to be.I have 10 year old sleds and there is only so much to do to them now..as long as they start up and can ride is all that counts.I have to find something else to occupy my time during the winter months I guess..it was a hoot last winter with a early November snowfall..but this Winter is discouraging so far...
Long range is calling for a snowstorm around Dec 29-31 here..we'll see if that shows, probably will by pass us as usual again...lol
