i recently removed the transfer rods and i believe that the suspension is compressing a lot more and it is taking tension off the track and rachets. it only does it under hard acceleration like doing a wot launch or cruising at 20 then going wot.

are you sure you aren't hitting the lugs on the tunnel/exchangers? Suspensions are designed so that the track tension stays the same no matter how they are compressed. (as they compress, they move back also. overall tension should stay the same.)
the track isnt rubbin anythin i looked under my tunel and the protectors dont have any rub marks and the front of the track is about 1 1/2 inches away from the front exchanger. it doesnt have a rear exchanger it has the rails that run under the running board and a front exchanger it might have just been the suspension bottoming out and bouncing a little when the front end pulls up fast

since you removed the transfer rods and installed the strap, the skid is no longer working as OEM designed. The skid is now just compressing up and down without moving back, which keeps proper tension. I learned this by installing the straps myself. Check for yourself by simply raising the front up in the air, similar to a hole shot and set on the seat. Notice the amount of slop in the track. To eliminate the ratcheting, you will have to run a tighter tension than previously run. I personally went back to the transfer rods, the wheelies aren't worth the damage to the track and drivers to me. Good luck Al
the thing is tho i dont have the straps its just the suspension working independantly like the old mach 1 suspensionalswagg said:since you removed the transfer rods and installed the strap, the skid is no longer working as OEM designed. Well that is even more movement. The straps do help with positioning the skid. Without the straps the skid is totally relaxed, and the shock is allowed to fully extend. The same effect will happen. Sorry. Al
