All the dealerships I have seen just use a fork truck and a work bench. Lift the sled up, slide the work bench under the skid. Adjust sled with fork truck as needed.
Sound like my garage looks like yours....LOLbluemonster1 said:yeah like ten minutes to get front and back bolts in and like 2 hours later still trying to line up center bolts.Have dents in my garage doors from throwing tools against it in fits of rage..not as easy as you think even after having doing it a few times..Yami sure didn't make it easy for us ...again....![]()

that is great...lmao.I try not to throw anything against the windows.I know of someone who lost his temper and tossed a wrench right thru his garage window..I have not come that far yet..but you never know what is in store for the future ....you just never know what will tick me off next and it is the simple things that set me off.The things that are to take like 5 minutes to do and I am into the couple of hours situation. That is when no one hangs around me.My wife has caught me in a rage once and she just ran into the house fast..lol
She now is getting use to my fits in the garage while working on something....

hey bluewho doing it on its side is fine if it works for u. try putting in skid on viper. it will not just slap in there. i may be wrong find out on my brothers shortly. first sled i have owned in over 30 yrs. last one was 1974 skidoo 440 tnt. that sled would still be fun today actually. so i dont know how the skids go in on any other sleds. i am sure some other methods work fine. i am not saying laying it on side will hurt anything, just rather be able to get at both sides easily at same time. having sled in air makes it easier to align and adjust track tension i would think. anyhow most people like to think their way is the best. matter of preference sometimes. think snow and merry xmas
about 17 years ago, I had a paint booth in the back of my fathers gararge. Did body work on the weekends and nights when I wasn't at work doing bodywork. For fun, my brother and I who share few things in common decided we would resurect our childhood obsession of throwing knives and hachets. We set up a block set next to the door and would throw knives in between coats of paint. It was great fun and it is amazing once you learn how to throw a knife, how fast it comes back to you. One night for some reason I decided to throw it at the wall but as I turned and let it go, I realized that what I had thrown it at was the paint booth doors which had filters in them. Knife went across the hood of a freshly painted S10 pickup. I cant think of any time I have ever lost my cool, I don't throw fits, I throw knives around.
I don't take out many skids anymore, a few a year. when I had my first srx and then viper and a few sleds in and around them, I did alot. It was quicker to either remove the shock to adjust or remove the skid.

hey bluemonster, i have had some killer fits in the past. i would be willing to put them up against anybody. rebuilding brake cylinders on a 1965 falcon. could not get it thru my thick skull that they only would work if cups were put in one way. finally i put them in the right way. if it happened today i am sure somebody would call homeland security. or at least just dial 911. i would certainly understand and thank them for their concern.
Enough dirty talk now...........dsc577 said:in and out, done under 10.still takes me an hour but with more practice and 2 people maybe i can get it done faster
