Does the problem surface whether the sled is hot ,cold or it doesn't matter?

Problem manifested about a month ago, warm weather. Rather cold now, so doesn't matter.A couple of bucks said:Does the problem surface weather the sled is hot ,cold or it doesn't matter?

is the side that sparks a bright blue spark?
did you clean the coils when you had the flywheel off?

Ok, update! Tried a Nippendenso coil from an older john deere sled. It also has 5k resistance in the caps. Got spark on both sides! Blue with a nice, crisp sounding "tick, tick, tick" sound. Now I think I have some fuel issues, the previously full tank is almost half empty, think some of it may be in my crankcase. If I clean the plugs, it will start but bogs soon after and then stalls. Plugs all wet when I pull them. I don't know, fuel is about 3-4 months old. One thing after another. I have it sitting outside with plugs pulled, throttle wide open, turned it on it's side, (upright now) and a pair of vise grips holding fuel line to carb shut, hoping to maybe evaporate any liquids in crankcase?

Sounds like the floats are down calling for more fuel ......... constantly. Even when engine is off. Just a WAG.badhabit1 said:Ok, update! Now I think I have some fuel issues, the previously full tank is almost half empty, think some of it may be in my crankcase. Plugs all wet when I pull them.
I've had carb apart a couple times, but I agree with you. Once rain stops I will remove the carb, again.... Thanks.A couple of bucks said:Sounds like the floats are down calling for more fuel ......... constantly. Even when engine is off. Just a WAG.
