340 exciter engagement?

Hello, i would like to raise the engagement of my 77 340 exciter. The spring that is in it now is all rusty, but there is some white or silver paint on it. The clutch engages at 3000 now. Any idea as to what spring i could use to raise it? Thanks Rich

Try a stock 1980 Srx 440 spring I put 1 in my 1978 440 exciter raised engagement up 3900 makes a big difference u don't want to go to high on the spring because those sleds don't rev past 7500
