I have searched this site and found lots of clutch setup help. I found this exact wording "97-98 SX600 Trail
51/43 Helix, 8-ab weights , stock springs and gear up one tooth."
My questions are, do the weights have or need any rivets in them, and when it says to gear up one tooth what does that mean? Both gears or one of them and if so do I need to change the chain at all because of gear size change?

let us know how that combo works.usually you gear up 1 tooth on top gear..I still run stock set up in my 600..Now if you run a 1.25 track from a stock track, you should be gearing down 1 tooth on top gear also.A few things to think about.

I haven't done this setup yet but I am going through my clutches now so I thought I would see what others suggest. I found this info on the technical page of this site. Not sure what items I need to buy yet. do I need Both top and bottom gears/ chain and what kind of weights / rivets? When I figure out what I need and get it out on the trail I will post on the performance though for sure.

only top gears and chain should be good to use also. There is a chart somewhere in the Tech center that shows gear changes and chain sizing needed.Try to find that chart.
