Electric start kit for MM

My buddy wants to install an electric start on his wifes sled. Would an electric start setup off a 98 500-600 XTC will work on her 2000 700MM? Thanks
 
Let us know we can give you some tips and I will make sure to take some pics of my cousins older sx plug, then that way you will see what wires you will need to put where.

Relay plug location

Hey guys, I started this thread some time ago. We did end up buying this starter setup off of ebay. After downloading the installation info on this site it looks pretty straight forward, All the parts look to be there. My only question is the relay wiring location on the sled. The instructions say the plug is located at the front right of the air box. The only plug that is not being used is the white one I the picture. also in the picture is the relay I have. You mentioned having to maybe hard wire the connection because of the different years. Any help would be appreciated

That looks to be the plug. It should have a red/white wire, a red wire, and a black wire?? If so that is it and wires like this. You will have to make your own harness or you can order one from yamaha but i make my own with some wire and female wire ends to match the relay from radio shack. The red/white wire goes in the first B slot, the red wire goes in the B slot above that. The black goes in the first M slot. The other spot is blank. I can send ya a pic if you PM me your number.
