hi guys
just wanted to know what you thought of these plugs, new motor brake in run(about 15 miles) mixed 1 liter of oil in full tank as wall as injection, left to right: mag 145 main, center 145 main, pto 146.3 main, run at about 4000ft.

hard to use plugs as in indicator if you are not doing something very specific with them. For example, if you want to check the high end, you need to get your sled up to normal operating temp and then shut down, put in 3 new plugs, run it all out for 1/2 mile or so and then while you still have the throttle held wide open, hit the kill swith and let it coast to a stop, then, pull the plugs out and take a look. you can do the same thing with a low end run and a midrange run but each time you need to put in brand new spark plugs. This is really the only way to use plugs as an example of what is going on in the engine. The only time this wouldn't be true is if you had a blockage such as an oil line or fuel line that is restricting fuel or oil the entire time, then that plug would indicate a problem all the time. What you have in your hand there looks to me like 3 nice brown plugs, with a little extra oil residue from the oil in the tank but they really don't tell much of the story.

Those look a little rich for oil, should be a nice brown color with no ash. Look at them under a magnifier to look for aluminum spatter to indicate detonation, use to do that on chevy race motors. If there's no indication of that, I'd say your good to go. Most important thing on a break in is going to be to vary the throttle for the first tank as on a brand new sled break in.
