Just finished getting my ripsaw on my 02 SRX - set the track tension at stock setting - 1" at 20lbs - took it for a spin on 3-4 inches soft snow - when I hit it hard, the track racheted - I was digging into the grass, think that was why or do you need to run the ripsaws a little tighter than normal? - never had a track rachet on me before
 
limiter straps and rods need adjusted now

It all depends on how you have the front limiter straps set and the amount of transfer set in the rods. The more you let the straps out and more transfer, the less the track wraps around the cogs when your on the power.
 
didnt warriors have racheting problems that went away after some break in miles were put on? i have a viper with a ripsaw and 8 tooth drivers and it will only rachet a little on grass with a loose track. give it a little time and it might go away after some miles are put on.

BTW...my track stretched out for a long time, so you may have to keep tightening it until it is broken in completely. Thats what i did.
 
I'm experiencing racheting for the first time as well, ...I'm still running the original 136"X2" camo, ...but I've added Maxx Xfer rods (w/ skid adjustment) and an aggressive clutch setup, ...It pulls like a freight train now, but at times I skip a cogg. I tightened the track to 1" with less racheting, ...but I think ultimately I'm going to go with anti rachet drivers and keep my agressive setup.
 
Need to have fully clipped track to use anti-ratcheting drivers. Unless you bought a fully clipped Ripsaw, you'll have to use a different track to get yours modified.
 
the ratcheting will only get worse in the deep snow , you can try and take all the transfer out of the rear skid , and tighten the chit out of the track , you might as well buy some extra hyfax now , cause you will burn through them running the track so tight , soulotion= anti ratchet drivers $70x2 = $140 get the track punched and clipped $200.. results = priceless

kimpex sells two styles one word of warning they are two big yes two big hitting on the front suspenshion shaft know i have two git a grinder or a dremmal two remove about a cattle hair off so the track will turn wish i knew that before the track was installed sonofabeach kimpex???????????????????????o well no snow mite as well work
 
the wahl's are also to big (1/4), if you are using the 9th drivers ,you will need to grind about 1/4 inch of the tip of the cog , if you run a 8th driver it will fit ok ...

hey blue who , i did the same thing , i used a 4' grinder with a low grit sand paper on it and it took about 10 min. to get done .....good luck
 
If your looking for a 9th driver (anti-ratchet ) i dont think anybody does , yamaha just does not like to give us the clearance , but ill tell ya , cutting the cog back 1/4 ' does nothing to the performance , i'm running a 136 x 15 x 1 3/4 paddle kicking in at 5300rpms with the bender pipes and no track tention(adjusters backed all the way off ) and the sled does nothing but carry the skis all day long and not once has it slipped ....LOVE IT .....but the 8th anti ratchet driver will fit no problems ...
 
Billy, don't run the track too loose, or it can cause excessive wear on the hyfax. I just remembered you have hiperfax. When are we getting you up to Canada?
 
tx 250 i dont think it should be to mutch of a prob they stick out inside the window with plenty to spare as you no would of been easyer on the bench jesus i read this someware here and it did not regester they were fun to time as well no?dont follow there arrows they dont line up soneofabeachin kimpix haha
