If I put a long travel rear suspension on my 97 sx600, do I need to do anything to the front suspension. I do have Ohlins on the front which work great. What kind of options do I have? Any suggestions will help.
Never had Ohlins. The revalved Viper shocks that I installed in my 97 sx vastly improved the ride quality.
Do a search on this topic. Lots of good info on this mod
oh cool guys. Thanks for all the replies. I will try riding with the back long traveled and the front stock. I also thought of making up some different ski saddles that just raise the bottom end of the spindle a couple inches. I will let you guys know how things work. Thanks again for all the help.
My SX has a IQ/x10 136" in it. I used Viper/SXR shocks in the front to long travel it, I also used SXR radius rods & steering rods, that widens it abit and keeps the front more stable when long tavelling it. Last year I really didn't notice much difference as far a cornering goes, but it sure rode better than the short travel Proaction that was in it for all those years...
I went wit the Viper trailing arms and wide kit from Pioneer also get a set of Viper upper mounts from BETHEVIPER and mount either stock Viper front shocks or some Viper spec Ohlins like I did. awesome improvement.
