1980 Exciter Build Complete

Well just thought I would post some pics to see what everyone thinks of my 1980 Exciter 440 project. I first started by stripping the hood and had to reinforce it around the hinges and then we painted it as close to Yamaha Blue as we could match. I had a local graphics shop duplicate the stock Exciter decals but changed the color scheme to go with the blue hood. When I first purchased the sled it already have a Phazer front suspension installed, so I decided to use the suspension from my 1998 SRX 700 and install it into the Exciter. I also had a seat and plastic skis from the SRX laying around as well, so I put them on as well. So all together it took removing 7/16" from each side of the suspension mounts to fit it into the tunnel of the Exciter. It was definitely a good learning experience but I think it turned out pretty good in the end.
