took my old fuel pump out to replace with a new one.One of the bolts fell down thru the tunnel, the other one is solid. So I guess 1 bolt holding pump down will be good enough.Only way to ever get another bolt in there is if I remove the whole skid and track..that is not going to happen any time soon.
Gonna do that modification to the choke plungers some have suggested also.
Took the SRX out in the field next to me for a few runs.Again the motor doesn't seem to be snappy like it should on top...can never win with this sled..always something.Seems flat on top when I punch it,like it felt a few years back. This sport is starting to get to me already.only have so much patience with issues.Mind you couldn't take it for a 10 mile ride..but that snap doesn't seem to be there as it should...maybe time is right to retire the sled..I don't know.I am not a happy camper these day I guess... #$%&*

Is the sled even warm doug i dunno it takes me miles before i hold it open just to get the crankcase cleaned out.Because the coolant is warm does not mean the sled is totaly.

Pipes have to be hot as well to pull realy good thats why i have my screens blocked behind the bumper. :bling: with blue plastic.

Lucky rabbits foot on the key chain helps as well!

yet end of last season it was running strong and snappy..I know the PV's are adjusted..but I may have to check them again..shouldn't have to really since I adjusted them in October

well anyways have the new fuel pump installed, now gonna work on them choke plungers..perhaps will have a look inside the carbs to see how things look.Carbs were cleaned in October and gas was in the carbs ever since..you never know what one could find...but am using Premium gas with no ethanol.

It actually doesn't sound that bad at full throttle for only a 3 second full throttle blast at relatively warm winter temperastures.
It is working pretty hard to accelerate which is not a bad thing and probably its because of the way you have it clutched and good traction.
I agree it sounds like its running uneven at part throttle, maybe loading up, may need plugs or just a good long didtance ride to clean out the pipes ect.
I would also check your carb syncronization when you have them off to do choke mod.

yeah and I got the primary really to hot to,so I stopped the short runs.I do think the motor needs a good warm up and a long run to clear pipes out, because of the extra oil in the crank from running motor with oil cable set at full to fog the inside of motor for 10 miutes a few weeks back.

it is so warm out it is crazy. So I will work on carbs.Just checked my reed petals and they are all ok..I really don't know if I will get a chance to open up this sled on a River this year to see what the 8bu setup will do..Rivers are not safe and the warm temps don't help.I have my stock clutching in today.I have a little belt squeal I notice also.A few thing s to occupy my time...

x2 sounds loaded up when you're doing your turn arounds. temps a lot warmer than your normal riding?
it is about 2 C here now...I have my fuel screws out at 2.25 turns I think and am running with 45 pilots, stock jetting.

hey blue i think those hair are catching in the wind you should cut them lollllllllllllllllllllll

Two stroke engines can build a lot of raw fuel and oil in the crankcases when idled or run at low speeds for a period of time and go pig rich when the throttle is snapped open...a real bad thing when drag racing!
Some engines are more prone to do this then others. I found that a good run just before a drag race always helped avoid this potential power robbing/race loosing condition.

your clutches are shifting out to quickly ( sucking the belt ) for the conditions. very little snow & hard hookup does that. twist the secondary +10 or +20degrees. it will disappear. play back your video & listen to the motor laboring.

yes I know conditions are bad and the clutch got hot fast from a few runs...just wanted to get the itch out. Just got stock weights fully loaded ,stock prim. spring, red spring in 2ndary,stock helix at 80.I realize what you are saying about the traction and clutches shifting to fast..
Guess I shouldn't worry to much until we get good snow to ride and get that track to spin some also.
Motor really didn't have a good chance for a good warm up.usually I would ride around a mile to warm things up before I open her up.

You should check for damage on the underside of the tunnel, my fuel pump bracket was almost worn through from studs hitting it. That is probably why one of yours fell out, better make sure you aren't getting into the gas tank.

any stud damage I have was from the original suds put in from previous owner. After that I went to shorter studs and nothing is being hit..especially the front exchanger.
