2 brand new artic cats accident

I lives like 15ft from de tracks and byes is always bootin down em loud as can be and you dont find anyone around here complaining. I understands if its like a hotel or something but when you moves next to a trail then all of a sudden start complaining about the noise then thats your fault for moving there in the first place.

Loud pipes do lose trails. Start fining these people 300.00 who think they are smart asses & watch how fast they change their tune. People like that don't give a shit & they will be the first ones to complain that the trail was closed.

the biggest problem, is that we are using their land, not state land etc. so yeah, I might not want loud sleds coming on MY land that I ALLOWED you to use. the landowner gets nothing from it. with the raceway, it is that persons land, most people moved there knowing it was already there, or at least had the chance to oppose it when they were going for permits. similar thought, but just a different circumstance with the sleds. my parents and I own a mobile home park and we love sleds, the trail comes right through, we groom the trail, sign it, etc. and I must say, on a weekend I bet we see 50-100 sleds come through. and I would also say that1/4 of them come through at about 20mph, blipping the throttle with race cans. litterally 20 feet from peoples houses. we are allowing the trail to go up the pavement for 1/4 mile or so, so yeah, it sucks that they are loud and disturbing the customers. if it comes down to it, we need to keep the customers happy, not the sledders. I hate to say it, but its just the way it is in some places. on the other hand, I can go 4 hours north to pittsburg NH and all the trails are way out in the woods a long way from anyone, so its a lot less of an issue. just my $.50. (wa a long post, more than $.02 worth!)
Well said^^^^^^^
This is certainly a debate/discussion that could go on and on. Truth is, We have to respect what the landowners do and do not permit. Around here atleast, it's the little trails that are right next to peoples houses that connect with the larger corridor trails. The last thing I want to do is piss em' off so they shut down those trails and prevent me from having access to the larger trails. I love the sound of a piped sled, especially a triple! Wish I could have a can on my sled but...I can't. If they told me I could put a can on my sled but couldn't ride through populated areas, the can would not even be installed. However, like Viperguy said, get me up to very secluded area and that can would be on the sled instantly.

yep. where im at we have 82 acres. most of it is fenced off horse running area as meg boards, shows, and trains new riders as a side hobby after work. sleds are welcome. all kinds loudness etc. the horse,s are used to it and they dont startle easy because of quads, sleds, etc... which is a good thing. the trail that runs behind the property. and along the horse fences is the main access to the main trail system for many riders on this road. we will always keep it open. as we are enthusiasts of the sport. our 'NEW' as of last year. next door neighbors how ever dont feel the same way. so now the trail has changed instead of running back field the whole way the trail now comes up the horse barn driveway and out to the road for a couple hundred yards until you get to the next adjacent property. i guess what im saying is some people are more sensitive then others. riding on property is a privilage not a right. we nhave never once had any problems with sledders on our property. so in general its safe to say that people in the most part are respective of other peoples property and even if a couple bad eggs were to do something dstructive against us i would never hold it against the rest of the sledding population. mass punishment is not the answer. there are 2 many good people out there for that... example: last year a fellow sledder died on my brothers property in pa. its a 3/4 mile long field from my uncles to my brothers. the field intersects and is essentially one. well when my bros property ends it bottle necks the field because of a tree line to the neibors portion of the field. well the guy missed the bottle neck and crashed into the tree line and died of internal bleeding. we knew him.. it was kennys son. and kenny told my brother straight out that he wasnt going to try to sue or nothing dumb. that it was purely his sons fault what happened. and that he greatfully appreciates that my brother leaves his part of the trail system open for fellow sledders. so now we are marking the bottle neck with great detail to try to help. and yes the trail will remain open. because of good HONEST people. keep the trails open and be safe guys!!!

I totally agree, some people just give the rest of us a bad name, and that name is usually given to pople that dont ride or know anyone that rides. just like stunters give sport bike riders a bad name, and straight piped harley guys aggravate people in quiet neighborhoods with kids. hell, ricers make anyone that wants to mod a car an instant street racer in some peoples eyes. just the way it is, right wrong or other. man, starting to think this should be a separate thread lol!

sorry if i came off wrong to ya.. but nope. not complaining. and not upset at all. my long story was just a side affect of boardom and cabin fever waiting for a good snowfall ;)! as for the video i think vids like this are good to show... they help spurr rider awarness. because nobody wants to have an accident.

WOW! Those guys are lucky for sure....just goes to show that anything can happen at anytime. Be safe out there guys, nobody wants this to happen at all and to top it all off wrecking a new sled.
