THERE WERE 21 SERVICE BULLETINS FOR THE 81 SRX, 21 UPDATES AND OR RECALLS INCLUDING many ENGINE, CRANK CASE , STATOR, CDI, CLUTCH, SECONDARY, CARB, JETTING etc VERY RARE TO FIND ONE THAT DOSE HAVE NUMBERS MATCH BECAUSE MANY WERE UPDATED WITH CASE THAT WAS UNSTAMPED. THE 81 SRX DID NOT PEAK AT 9500, YAMAHA CLUTCHES WERE NOT DURABLE ENOUGH FOR THE EXTREME HIGH HP THIS SLED HAD, SO YAMAHA WITH COMET ADDED 102c. PEAK RPM ON THIS SLED WAS 9250, ALSO THAN THE UPDATED ENGINE MOUNT WAS ADDED. YAMAHA DECIDED TO PULL THE PLUG ON THE 81 SRX AND GAVE OWNERS A FEW OPTIONS THROUGH THEIR DEALERS. YOU CAN TRADE YOUR 81 SRX IN ON A 1982 SRV PLUS $2400 BUCKS, OR TAKE IT TO YOUR DEALER, HAVE THEM PULL MOTOR SO THEY COULD DESTROY IT AND THAN GIVE YA BACK YOUR SLED WITH NO MOTOR, OR KEEP YOUR 81 SRX. I SAW A YAMAHA REP AND MY DEALER DRIVE AIR IMPACT CHISELS IN 10 OF THESE MOTORS IN 1981. THAN JUST SCRAP THE REST. 3:16 (yammie tony)
