My MM700 is overrevving the first 5 seconds from start, 9000rpm, then drops to the correct 8200 rpm.
It's completely stock, except 1-2 teeth geared down.

Inner rivets are 4,5 g. Is it possible to buy heavier rivets? Is it the right way to go?
 
Yes you can get heavier rivets from Hauck power sports.They are boldt/nuts they have.
Its most likey from gearing down.You can load the motor a little by going to a multiangle helix but for mtn riding I like straight helixes for instant backshift.
 
I am no clutch expert at all but it kinda sounds like your track is not hooking up could be wrong someone that knows more will chime in soon and more than likely give you a better answer thank I can give.
 
if your running the stock 43* helix with the green spring, what position is it in? if your at 70, try backing it up to 60. sounds like the shift is holding momentarily before the upshift. you may need to play with it to find the sweet spot.

this assuming your clutches are clean and in proper working order.
 
you can take a bolt that fits the hole and cut the length down to where it weighs what you need,then put bolt thru and peen over the threaded end.Make sure bolt has a thinner head on it for clearance .

It seems like the problem is that the MountainMaxes in Sweden were delivered with 21/40 gearing, which is the gearing for high altitude, >1400 metres. In Sweden there are almost no mountains that high...

So i'm going for 23/40 gearing, <1000 metres altitude.
 
The highest mountain in Sweden is some 2100 metres/6800 feet only.
Today I set the sled up exactly like Yamaha specs...but I still have 9000 rpm in the powder...slightly less but still to much.
I will make myself some heavier rivets. With 4,5 grammes in the inner hole it revs 9000, should be 8300 rpm. I think I will go for 5 grammes, enough or should I go for more?

Not yet, when I get time off (maybe this weekend) I will go down to the lake nearby and do some testing.

I noticed some yamahas seem to have led rivets. Pherhaps I will try to make some.
