unplugging the single wire as kirk stated does work, this is how i adjust mine
Idle down,,,,, there will be an 1/8"rotation past that ,,,,,,but thats not how it runs under power..............

O.k. so thats why its traveling an 1/8 past the mark. So unpluging the single wire is not the preferred method?

staggs65 said:how are you powering it up? all 3 of my sleds have the harness for adjusting on them (there when I bought them). not sure how they're wired as I never needed to check but maybe something with how they're wired: through the cdi or something?
I disconnected the servo harness plug and used the black/red and black/yellow wire. The tech page says power to blk/red and ground to blk/ylw but these way moved my servo clockwise instead of counter-clockwise..weird Had to reverse the connection?
Is this the factory test port harness on the 98 for servo motor.
I know on the viper I used the battery method and the connector is above the right footwell and it's a black connector. It had a black, red, and a stripped wire. I used the black and red and it went as advertised: counter clockwise. loosened the cables up (all in) prior.

i'd idle it down with the idle screw and adjust them. I know you had the bad experience with the tors switch that way but I've never had that happen before. jmo
i know if you turn the servo motor past the halfway point and hook the servo up to power via the test leads it will go the opposite direction intended. i found this out the hard way.. i was being a goof and playing with it and i turned it back too far and it took off the other way and sinched and bound up all my cables lol. but either way. it trys to go it will always end up at the same spot ..power valve open.. in my experience playing with it

I ended up leaving the pulley off, re-started sled and idled it down so it did its own thing. Now the tricky part was getting the cable pulley back on in the right spot, aligning the holes. I had to manually twist the pulley counter-clockwise and hold it while putting the screw back in. After all said and done, my marks were lined up from last year. I just want to know why kirks way over travels it by an 1/8".
