Faulty coolant sensor?

Went for a little ride and temp light was flashing. Coolant is slightly low from a carb clean but there is still coolant in the overflow and all the plugs look good. Any ideas??

What sled? Is it a continuous blink, or a code?

2001 sxr 700, it started flashing after a few minutes riding, lots of snow and it was cold out..

Check the wires right at the connector, they tend to break off if the harness is pulled to tight. This will cause it to blink all of the time.

It blinks on start up and then goes off but came on after about 5-10 minutes of riding

Any chance the red heads are known for water pump failure?? I hope not but this is a bit of a head scratcher!!
