Ask what she think of it and handling. It there something she does not like. Then you may be able to make changes to suit her what ever they are.
Every machine has a different feel and I doubt she'd like the bottem end snap of a sensitive 3 bagger or a hang on for you life ride through the trees (they don't move and step out of the way. You'll never mow one down taking a courner too wide and hooking one). Have her take it for a ride letting her know you need to know what will suit her and what characterists you doesn't like and must have features. Then if your sled can be adjusted to them it may work out for you both.

I have the bender quik steer kit on my 00 srx and WOW! Not as nice as power steering but makes it a helluva lot easier to steer! A hole let muscle needed! Pretty sure they have an application for every sled.

My lady ABSOLUTELY LOVES her Venom ER.
600cc, Electric start, Reverse, still a great sounding Yamaha triple. Drives and rides super smooth. Looks just like the red viper.
Might be the ultimate chic sled...

You know my opinion gil! My wife's been riding her viper for 2 yrs now and loves it. Will go slow when she wants and can rip it up with the boys when she wants. Ill never admitt it but i think her viper is faster then mine now that im back to stock! LOL! Hand and thumb always warm. Plus you already know the viper inside and out! Now that she has e start and reverse i dont know that she will come off of it! LOL! And now the daughter has one!

I'm gonna let her try mine, but if she wants something a little tamer I think I'll try to find a venom. It appears they share all the same parts except the engine, which for me to work on and spare parts would be a real plus. Gil

Well I settled it. Today we took the sleds out and I had her riding her new to her 02 zl 550 Cat I had gotten from a good friend last summer. After a little riding I asked her how it was. She said she really didn't like the way her sled sat or handled. (she's only 4"10) She felt like she was sitting on top of the sled, too high and the running boards had hardly any traction as her legs are so short, she rides with her feet farther back.
So I offered up my Viper and I rode hers. First I saw what she meant, on the Cat you feel like you're on the sled where the Viper you feel like you're part of the sled and the Viper feels much more planted. Despite having less travel the Viper actually rides better then the Cat. I'm sure a large part comes from the "fix" for the skid and the revalve by Pioneer (thanks guys).
Anyway we got back to the clubhouse and I had her get on the Viper a little bit on the way up the driveway. All I can say is when we pulled in th parking lot, I could see this huge smile coming from her helmet. All I got was " now that's what 'm talking about"!!
Needless to say I will be riding the Cat for the rest of the season or atleast until I can get "My" new Viper built as I just lost my old one!! LOL! Well atleast she's happy and we all know thats always a good thing!!
Thanks for the imput guys.

Well her being happy is job one and if there is some little thing you could do for her it'll be icing on the cake to tweek it. EG adjust the handle bars a little lower etc.
Enjoy being out together on them trails.

You were right Chris. It was a good day, and everything worked prefectly / nothing broke and I didn't find anything I forgot to put back together or back together right! Afetr tearing mine down to nothing I was real nervous about that.
Tripplec, The Viper S was only made in 04 and came with Olhins on the front and a 1.25 ripsaw track from the factory. Also it's got the sharpest paint / graphics in my opinion.

Very good. Sound like its optimized for deep deep snow. Not much here though.

I know you guys probably don't want to hear it but a candy red Vector ER 4 stroke would put most of the women I know out on the snow with a new found passion.
Gobbs of giddy up, easy to ride (on trail), don't stink (most chicks don't like the smell of oil) and a sexy look.
I know if my wife had one I would not be able to ride without her again.
(she ain't gettin one lol)

I think they (OEM's) need to revert back to some older thoughts on sled. I like my Touring Venture (long track, long seat, stow area on tunnel, reverse is a big plus, electric start when I want it, and enough power/speed). The big issue is WEIGHT. I can just lift it on dry ground front & back, but suited up and in the snow. NO COTTON PICKING WAY its a tank as is my other smaller Formula STX 598. When they stuck UP is not an option to move it. Even with two struggling. These tanks we ride may be fine on the groomed trails but taking them over deep power is risky business. It give new meaning to being stuck. Been there and done that more than once and up to 4hrs getting out and back on the trail.super1c said:Gil i told ya! I knew she could handle/love the viper. These sled don't ride on top of the snow they ride in the snow. LOL and unless you're on a good down grade its a matter of the time and you're buried with it when you between trees and obsticles you cannot just give er hell and float on top.
Lighter sleds not heavier 4 cycle monsters that look like the front of a SnoCruiser I had w/20" track and a front like a freight train coming at you and it was heavy as well with a twin opposed engine that would rip your rist off if you weren't real careful.
