I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much play the driven gear in the chain case is supposed to have on a 1996 Yamaha Vmax 600 Proaction Plus snowmobile. This is on the same shaft that the track cogs are attached to. It seems to me that my gear can move from side to side by about 1/4 inch. Is that normal??
Sounds like you might be missing the spacers.
