I have dumb ??? whats the sharpie trick???
lol!! Take a marker..black sharpie or blue or red..whatever.Runs lines down from top of sheave to middle.Do this all around..maybe like 6 or 7 lines. Then when you run the sled at wot runs.Stop and check how much of the ink has been erased by the belt. The remainder of the marks will show you how high up your belt is climbing. If it is around 1/4 to 3/8" left then your clutch is shifting all the way.If it is 1/2" or more left..then your clutch is not shifting full out.

I'll be going out for another ride on the SRX.After tomorrow looks like the warm weather is staying a while..which means melting again..think this might the the last day or so to ride.Gonna try the 8bu-10's 1 more time... :dunno:

106 miles today,a few more tomorrow
I have had like 2-3 miles putting around my dads woods about a month ago on 2-3 inches of snow just to run the gas through the carbs. It's been like April here 90+ % of the winter. Every time we get a inch or two it melts within a day or two. We've had open winters before but usually someone else has it north, south, east or west of here. Not so this winter. I am skeptic of my trip. They have around a 15-20" base in the UP and the traffic has been insane up there. I am not expecting a good trip like I am used to for that area. Just going so I can say I rode once this winter. Oh well at least I don't have a $10-14,000 machine sitting in the garage. To be honest I don't think I ever will. That is too much $$ to stick into a toy you use very little. As I have mentioned before if I ever do anything ,I might buy a clean used 2001 SX700R, pipe and port it and set it up the way I want it for an all around fun on and off trail machine. I have never been able to get that guys Hauck sno cross sled out of my head I rode one year. It was just a riot to ride.

Sorry, got OFF TOPIC!!

I hear ya...my dream sled would be to find another SRX..like between 76 to 78 and get her all done up.Love that posting where a guy has rigged trailering arms on an older Yami..now that would be cool little project.Oh yeah..he even installed a triple motor in it..get him credit... ;)!
