Could also be the water pump seal

09nytro- would u necessarily see the leaked coolant?
If it was the water pump seal the weep hole is located near the front of the motor at the bottom and would weep out into the belly pan under the motor. It is hard to see that area on a viper with the single pipe in so I imagine and srx would be even harder to see.
Also the crank design for the viper(porkchop) vs the srx one makes not difference on the hanging idle. Same carb settings viper motor vs srx motor with viper cylinders and both single piped with the stock viper pipe do the same thing. Choke blip works well and so does the fuel mixture screw adjustment.

pilot circuit is fine. artificially enrichening air/fuel on any warm engine will tend to cause r.p.m. to drop irregardless of what is causing it to idle up. no sense in wasting gas by richening up pilot circuit when it runs off the bottom fine the way it is. yup hard to see with those pipes. probaly where the problem is u would think. pulling head was good chance to check out top end, looks good. new orings dont hurt at least.

I had some issues today, but on my SRX. IT seems that if I set the idle at 1500. It idles down just fine...
I have tried it at 1800 (factory specs) and I cannot get rid on the idle hang

Mine does the same thing. I left mine it 1,500 and it works just fine.
