I am a big guy and when I sit on my sled it drops alot. What is the best fix for this. I ride in the montains is there a way to lift it up with out spending a butt load of money. I want to keep the sled for a few more years. would new shocks work I have brackets on it just need about 3 more inches. Any ideas
Ever think about long traveling it That will give 11.5 " of suspension travel. I am in the process of doing it to mine. I am using 02 viper shocks
Doing the long travel Viper shock/spring mod will help abit. I found that this does not raise the sled tho. It does greatly improve the ride quality. Setting the FRA to the "stiff" or lowest position. This will help your "sit in" of the skid.
Side note: Shocks have nothing to do with ride height. The springs will determine ride height. The shocks your control how the springs collaspe and rebound.

Sounds like you may want a seat riser to go along with the long travel..
Get a Viper seat . Add 2 inches of foam to it and build a seat riser. Waaaaay better on the knees.

I just had my shocks rebuild by pioneer performance. Bruce is very knowledgeable and would be an easy phone call to answer your questions. I have a 2001 SXR 700, I am 6 foot 235. This is what I did to help with my knees. You can buy seats to raise up, but I don't have all that cash to dump so here is what i did. I bought a 6 inch handle bar riser form a guy on here, he is out of new york, That was $35. you can go 3 inches with just rerouting the cables but I bought new cables of ebay for $35. I made a 3 1/2 inch seat riser that really helped reduce the stress on my knees. I got the idea from here. It took me about 3 hours but was not bad at all. Finally I just got my shocks from Pioneer, so I am hoping that makes it a perfect fit. which for all 4 revalved/rebuilt it was only like $180. That is cheaper than my local dealer minus shipping.
