maybe in a short run if u hook really good I think ur fighting a loosing battle .srxs are beast but they can't beat em all.my buddy raced 1 with 02 Srx it has 780 bigbore and good clutching i didn't see the race but he lost to a stock Machz I think the race was 2000ft. :2strokes:

It's an 05 pretty much stock he say but I know he has a few tricks up his sleeve that he's not telling me cause he works at the local brp shop lol

Wish I could tell you that your SRX will tear him up but his 300cc are definately making him a favorite. Add to that he works at the brp shop so evenif stock its prolly dialed in stock, not out of the box stock. David did slay the goliath! No shame in loosing to someone with that many cc's more than you.

Exactly no shame in loosing to a bigger sled. He had a zr 900 last winter he could take me in the short run I think only due to his traction advantage but I would sneer by him in the long run but after a few drags with him he blew his diomond drive so looks like the srx was the real winner lol. The srx is now what I call a dinosaur but it still performs great for a 700

I say get your overrev fixed, get your sled dialed in and at least give him a little scare. Like Devilin AblueDress said, your asking a 500 to beat a 800. I've raced my share of big dog sleds and won alot of them, but most of the owners didn't dial in / set up their sled. I'd swear some have a hard time
changing plugs.

Exactly I'm gonna get it dialed in before I will even attemp half the fun is getting the sled tuned the best u can and try different things I'm starting to get to know theses sleds pretty good thanks to me not being scared to take it apart and the great knowledge on this site

We have bumped our 700 up into the 1000cc trail stock class a few times at NBSSR radar run events. Had the chance to run the Mach on those weekends. I think we traded wins. In a drag race though I would give the win to the Doo!

SRX CAN WIN THIS , ESPECIALLY IF YOUR SETUP IS CLOSE. AND OF COARSE IN 2000 F.T., ADVANTAGE GONNA GO TO HIM, BUT I BET IT SPITS ITS GUTS OUT BEFORE THAT. EVERY FAST '' NEW '' MACH I SEEN RUN WAS HEAVILY MODDED, MOST USEING NOS. STOCK THEY WERE SLOW. now sit tight, you will here from the peanut gallery any minute. 3:16 (YAMMIE TONY)

If you have your srx dialed in you should be able to beat him but if the guy knows what hes doing the 05 mach z's are bullets.

Its all about the braging rights. 1000 owner "I just beat a 700!" my response would be "yeah and?" 700 owner "I just beat a 1000!" my response "SCHWEET!" If they need a 1000cc of poo power to beat a 700 yami they need to rethink the whole thing! If the race is even close I would consider it as a partial win for the 700 and the 1000 should be ashamed of itself! Theres an old gearhead saying "no replacemnet for cubic displacement" Obviously there is and yami has found it.

700cc 1 cylinder vs 700cc 3 cylinder equals torque vs hp. that 1 cylinder wont rev very high or put out much hp. but ittle produce teeth busting torque. where as the 3 cylinder will scream out the high revs and make awesome hp. but at the sacrifice of some lower end usablilty and torque. i dont think there would be much gain in a 700cc 6 cylinder. you would have high winding hp but extra rotating mass would play a big factor here and probably hurt its top end power. and torque would be almost non existant. lol

there was a guy who installed a small block Chevy V8 into his v-max.It sounded pretty cool and seemed to really go when he snapped the throttle...couldn't believe he got a motor in the chassis like that.

Seen that on utube lol the only prob is the engine would weigh as much as a normal sled might be ok for straight ahead runs though
