Yamaha "special model" release on the 9th

Don't get me wrong here i love the older yamahas, as i am trying to work a deal with a local guy to buy his 98' SRX 600 with probably only 1000 original miles on it....a gem fo sho ( i sold it to him when i worked at the local yami shop) and my dad still has his 97' sx 700, plus all the older stuff i love too like the tss vmax's srv....and the old enticers....but as far as new sleds that we ride now.....not yamaha, sorry. the only one that looked somewhat appealing was the nytro....still too heavy and still the same sled it was 6 model years ago.....couldn't afford them when i bought my last "new" sled in 08'......
I would honestly say polaris is really catching up to BRP....cat still has serious quality issues (not motor) that are just silly....and to now release a nytro xtx with a deeper lug 1.75" track.......and call it a "all new special model" how stupid do you think we are. People want gadgets and light weight and 20 inches of travel to guarantee this will be the best new sled they've owned- ever!!!! well it would work on me anyway.... ;)!
 
well I wouldn't buy a Cat.Just read on their forums how many things are being recalled..it is insane

wheels delaminating on skid
reverse jams and can't go forward
headlight system junk..hi beam to tree tops,low beam to bumper..
anti freeze leaking thru caps,coolant bottle splitting(back ordered...WHAT!!)
gas tank issues..possible cracks
odometer out of wack by over 10%
gas tank fuel warning light comes on with over 1/2 tank of fuel
reverse beeper won't shut off
paint peeling off in places
parts fit poorly
ski lift in corners bad
tunnel protectors are not installed and back ordered

and despite all these issues which some on there are pissed off about..and sled in the shop to long..they like the torque and power.
What were the engineers thinking..most should be fired to say the least/That many issues on a new sled is really insane don't you think.
I could except maybe handwarmers and a few little things..but could they not get the headlight reflector manufactured correct..what a safety issue..WOW
 
the list of recalls is like over 100 now. thats gota be a record. they rushed the sled. I hope yamaha is just taking their damn well time building the next game changing sled. And yeah if i were to buy a ski doo today it would be a 2013 assault ot 2011 crossfire 800 (arctic cat went way wrong dropping the crossfire. probably the best sled they made) Technology wise yamaha can make the most powerfull 2 stroke on the market if they wanted. just look at the vmax outboards... I do get why they didnt do anything big this year because of the shity shity weather.
 
lmao yamaha wont list the actual weight it just says 600+ theres no way in hell that yamaha can drop 200lbs and make 15 more hp just to be on the same level with polaris with a 4 stroke engine. Sorry to tell ya but my next sled wont be a yamaha.
