The only pipes that will work on a viper ER are Bender Racing, CPR, Hauck, Aaen. SLP and Speedwick will not work with an ER.

do your wallet a favor now and for the future. leave the exhaust stock or get a srx. i assume u are not in the market for a 4 stroker.

Vipers are finicky with triples and my suggestion if you are new to snowmobiling or not real fluid mechanically on sleds not to go there. If you are a seasoned sled guy then yes there is more performance on the table at the expense of lousy fuel mileage. Also looking into better cooling for the heads and a possible rear heat exchanger are good suggestions too if you go down that road.

I have Bender trips on mine.. sound great and havent had any problems with them.. I dont worry about fuel milage never figure it out.. But I would add the heat exchanger. I do love to hear those pipes sing..Makes me smile

How many miles do you have with the pipes? Just curious.

pipes

Like journeyman said, you need to know these sleds inside and out to run pipes correctly. I think EGT's are a must, you have to read plugs and wash correctly. I ran mine for 8 years and it was an incredible sled. But i got tired of the constant 94 plus octane fuel and all the tuning. I moved up to a ulmer racing Nytro which to my suprise runs side by side with my 780 with no headaches ! Enjoy the pipes, but really keep you eye on things.

What's all done to the Nytro? Is it a 136". My buddy has a 2008 Nytro SE that he did the 136" setup and I believe he has Ulmers clutch kit. It runs real decent but I know it would never outrun his former 780BB 136" Viper he bought from a TY member which was done by Mr. Viper. My avatar photo in fact. That thing really ripped. The bad thing is right when he sold the Viper to one of his friends it broke a piston skirt and lunched the motor real bad. It was so extensive that they ended up finding a cool motor for sale to install in it instead for $1500. It was a 700SX bottom end with Sea Doo cylinders measuring over 900cc with a custom Price Performance head and hand rolled triple pipes. It took some doing to get it to match up especially the ignition/electrical into the Viper chassis. It dynoed around 200HP on pump fuel. I rode with it one winter in the UP and it was an animal, got real decent mileage too. I have a couple video clips of him doing holeshots I should drop onto youtube. He traded it to Kip for an Attak that same year at Pat's Yamaha in Greenland, MI. I think Kip still has it. I will ask him, I am going to the UP on the 20th. That ended up being one of those sleds that EVERYONE took notice when you pulled into a gas station or rest stop. ;)!

It's a 136 , studded cobra 1 3\8 track, extros, everything but a supercharger. It's Ulmer #8 performance kit. I know the numbers don't add up but the nitro holeshots like a SB, it also pulls good top end. My 780 hauled *** but so does this nitro with alot less headaches. I know one day I will wish I had kept it.

I have over 5K on my Viper and have not had one problem with it... Sled runs great and sounds good to.. I don't see a problem with trips on a Viper or a SRX..

Which pipes?

One guy i know has a 02 viper with about 10k that is still piped. He has hauck pipes I believe the cpr style ones. He put them on the sled when it had 0 miles on it. Only thing he did was put new pistons and rings a 5k just to freshin up the motor.

I have bender pipes on my viper. Only have about 140 miles on them but it runs awesome night and day power difference. I wouldn't call myself an expert tuner or mechanic but I have worked on sleds for about 5 years now and somewhat understand what is going on with the sled. Before I ran the sled I did countless hours of research to find out what needs to be done as far as cooling, a baseline jet setup and clutch set up. And have checked plugs constantly through those 140 miles. I do have to say tho the sled is finIky through temp change that's what I have noticed.

IF you decide to get them I recomend doing your research ask people with pipes what they are running for jets, clutching, and what they did for extra cooling. The people on this site are awesome and they will definatly answer your questions the best they can to try and help you out.

If I was going to do pipes again I would probably go with the SLP's. I have heard they are one of the more friendly set of pipes. The little feedback I have had on Jaws have been good but they are so rare I think, other than the pipe mfg., you would be hard pressed to find any setups from current or former users. The thing I never liked on the Benders was one pipe fits over the head (heat). But there was one guy on here that was going to try running an SRX ignition (which runs at 8500 rpms) and the Bender pipes being they were the only aftermarket pipes that run at 8500. All the others out there ran at around 8800-9100 to get around the Vipers ignition spike.

I tried to have slp pipes on my 2002 viper engine that I placed in a 2004 viper mtn. The cylinders is ported. We tried different jetting and cluthing but whatever we did the sled run bad. And in the powder its bog. We took a set hauck cpr pipes instead and wow....the sled just scream and fly. In my opinium the slp pipes is just crap.

Benders run at 8700-8800rpm
