How do I fix my electric visor???

The visor on my HJC quit working again. :o| The power lines (the foil like paint lines between the 2 lens) has lifted and cracked. This will be the third one.
Is there any way to fix this.??? Like a conductable foil, tape, glue, etc.???
These helmets work great (when they work) but I can't afford to keep replacing the visor at $100. It would be better to buy a new style helmet.
Anyone have any great ideas???????
 
I've had mine for 5 years and 3 sleds and never had a problem with it. I love it! I took the nose piece out completely and it still stays clear. I recall a paintable repair product for rear window defoggers on cars that may work, check with a UAP/NAPA type of store and see if it's still available. Good luck.
 
I had a problem with my first shield but it was because I tapped into a wire that was way over 12 volts at anything over an idle and didn't realize it(my old Exciter II SX). Might want to check that voltage at 7 or 8 grand. My current visor is around 8000 Km old and still going strong. (Knocks on Wood :shock: )
 
dump the heated shield and all the extra wires hanging from you and go with a motoX helmet and goggle set up. small learning curve on venting and then you'll never worry about fogging again. ski
 
Thanks for the info. It has nothing to do with the voltage or wiring. It's the actual visor that keeps falling apart.
Last night I went for a rip and tried out a motX style helmet. Goggles fogging was not a problem. Only bad part was it was cold out so I had to wear a balaclava to cover up the big nose and mouth. I can see that as an overheating issue if riding hard. Definitely something you have to get used to.
