Just got my 1999 vmax 700 running which i only paid $150 bucks for last summer, $1000 later with triple CPR pipes, heavy hitters clutch, advantedge dual angle helix, bender transfer rods and proper jetting. I currently own a 2008 fx nytro and i think this old 2 stroke will smoke it. I seriously never knew this old 700 would haul like it does. anyone know if i can install a 1.25 track with studs on my 99 max ?
It can be done but its not reccommended as you will have some rubbing on the front heat exchanger protectors! some peolple actually cut the lugs down a little to make it work. I ,in fact have an 1 1\4 track on my sx, with no problems and a lil bit of rub marks but my paddles are 1 inch and the nubs are a lil longer...works ok, If you have a full 11/4 paddle it might not work unless you cut out where the track hits the protectors!
If you take the tunnel protectors off you can I have a 1.5 in track on my girlfriends 99 sx 600 no problems as of now.
I took the heat exchanger protectors off as well but I don't recomend doing this if you plan on studding.
