Very nice build. I'm looking to do something similar. With the 7 tooth drivers do you have room for more than a 1.75" track?
just do the rest of the math....thefullmonte said:With the 7-tooth drivers do you have room for more than a 1.75" track ?
Drivers diameter with 2,52" pitch:
7T = 5.50"
8T = 6.25"
9T = 7.05" -------> Stock on Yamaha Exciter-I/II
10T = 7.85"
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
REMEMBER:
When you go down the diameter of the drive wheels,
you get worse attack angle against the snow.
Which is not good from a get through the snow standpoint.
You can however somewhat adjust/compensate this by moving the skid backwards.
Always aim for a 17-19 degree attack angle against the snow !

with the 7 tooth sprocket i confirm that you can put a camoplast challenger 2" paddle. i think 2,5 would clear too, but i never tested. i suggest you to get an anti- ratcheting sprocket it's a bit more expensive but sure its worth the money

Thanks. That's good news. I figured it would go, but hadn't done any measuring yet. Looking to do a 155 X 2.4 if possible.

With your tunnel extension was that just off of another short track sled? Did you cut off old running boards and roll the bottom edge or just leave it? I have a couple of parts sleds I could butcher and yours is turning out nice so I may go that route and save a few $$$.
And I can't help but think your project would be much more enjoyable with a better beer. Lol JK

thanks alot guys ! for info the tunnel extention is made with a wrecked xl-v tunnel, not in perfect shape but i didn't paid for it ... my initial idea was to completely cut off my running boards and put complete boards from a 2011 tundra 550f but my buddy who was supposed to sell them to me changed his mind and keeped them... now i have to find a plan B...
stay tuned in the next weeks lots of mods coming so more pics to come !!

I'll bet that pipe plays some beautiful music on that sled!! What'll be the jetting increase.

instructions says to begin increasing the mains 2 sizes and then make a spark plug reading to find the sweet spot. for the clutching it says yellow/green primary spring (shift speed 7250 rpm).
they claim the pipe to have a 10hp increase over the stock exhaust

That pipe looks really fine, hope it works awesome, have u put on the flatslides yet? Remember to change the whole thing inside according to ex sx specs if u run vx 600 carbs

thanks a lot for sharing your setup man this said, i got bad news when i asked my local yamaha dealer for exciter sx needle and nozzle : they are b/o for 4-5 weeks and 35$ each. for the nozzles and 20$ each for the needles damn i paid 100 $ for my carbs i need to put another 110$ plus tax to make them work... i have to find another solution or i'll stick with my oem carbs
