I don't remember what the dealership was called back then. The guys name is Dennis Cole. 1980 was his last year as a Yamaha dealer. He is still in town and owns/runs a company called Inland Dredge. They build custom weed harvesting equipment. RC Yamaha opened up in town a year or two later. Rich Colono got out in the early 90's and now owns/runs RIVCO. A company that makes aftermarket motorcycle parts. Rich has always been bigger into bikes than sleds.

Old reliable Recreation Plus in Twin Lakes near the IL state line is still going strong. He's been a Yamaha dealer since the early 70's. Bob (the owner) is the man. Great people.

Cole's Competition Sports Center was the name of the place in Burlington. Happened to run across that name while looking at an old Snow Goer tonight!

IS FOR SALE ON E BAY # 230777585512. THIS SLED WAS ABOUT AS NICE OF A 1980 SRX YOU WILL FIND. EXTREMELY ORIGINAL RIGHT DOWN TO STOCK YAMAHA CLUTCH AND BUTTERFLY CARBS. check it out. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I contacted the seller after the auction and just brought this sled home today. It's a beautiful sled! I've wanted an 80 SRX since I was 15 and I can't believe it's in my garage. Tony, any history you can give me on the sled would be appreciated. The guy I bought it from told me the story about you delivering it to downtown Chicago.

FARR AS I KNOW THAT SLED WAS BOUGHT NEW IN PA AREA BY A VET WHO RODE IT ONLY ON GROOMED TRAILS. PROBLEY TRUE BY LOOKING AT THAT BELLYPAN. HE THAN SOLD IT TO A GUY THAT WAS VERY BIG IN STOCK CAR RACING, BUT WAS USED VERY LITTLE. I bOUGHT IT FROM A GUY THAT REALLY DID NOT WANT IT, BUT DID NOT PASS IT UP BECAUSE OF CONDITION. THAT IS A NICE SLED. good luck man. 3:16 (yammie tony)
