I just picked up a 99 VMAX700 deluxe in really good shape. I was wondering if I could put my old Viper ski's on it as it appears the spindle width is the same and it looks like I could just modify the stoppers.
Also the front shocks appear to be the same length and mount as Viper shocks. If so I'd like to update it with Viper shocks w/ pioneer rebuild. I would also do the same with the rears if they are the same as the Viper.
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks again Gil

Everything should bolt on. I have Viper shocks on my 98, front and rear. The skies will bolt on with any Yamaha plastic ski stopper. I believe the metal ski ones are different so I used 3/8" plastic under mine to fit C & A skies.
you can just shave the little ears off of them if you dont have any. It will make the sled about an inch lower in the front. It will throw off your rear skid settings if it was perfect before. If not, it could go either way.

Yeah they would have worked, but I didn't like how the ski tail would hit the trailing arm so easily.

I just picked up a set of I believe older ski doo (dual carbide) plastic skis that were on a srx 600. They came with loops decent carbides saddles spindles, everything. They look in real good shape. In checking, the spindle part numbers are the same as the 99 vmax so this set up should slide right in. Thanks for the advice. Gil
