I have a 2002 sx viper that the temp light comes on about 15 minutes after starting it and letting it sit.it doesnt seem to be overheating but i am very concerned. ive bleed the cooling system and put in new coolant. anyone have any ideas.

i guess what i am most concerned about is having a bad head gasket.how can check for that.

Some call it the "idiot" light. May have absolulety nothing to do with overheating. If your viper is like my SRX's that light has a sequence, Upon start up 3 flashes is "good to go" code. Pay attention to the sequence, how many, long/short flashes, May help to record with a camera, go to the tech pages and sypher the fault code to figure out what your sled is telling you is wrong with it. If its actually to hot I beleive the light stays lit solid.

My 02 viper was intermittantly indicating it was overheating last year. Toward the end of the season the lite began to come on instantly when started (cold). I'm going to check the sending unit, followed by checking the wiring. Common problem with the Vipers.
