Studding a 1.250 on SRX?

Well I am fairly new to this site, and I am sure this came up before, couldn't find anything on it though. Anyways I have a 1.250 ripsaw on my 2002 SRX and just for safety reasons thought about putting a few studs in her. I heard somewhere you need to run 8 tooth drivers etc. Has anyone tried this without the 8's in a PRO-ACTION chassis? Looks to me like it would be very close and would have to pay close attention to track tension. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!
 
you would have to notch the track to clear the tunnel protectors...it has been done before but it is a pain on the butt. By the way Welcome to the Site :)

Yeah I had to remove them because they were rubbing slightly, but I figure if I trimmed them by about .25 with a sharp knife it would be OK. Any other problems I might run into? Don't want to do this if I have to mess around with drivers and stuff. THANKS
 
Is their a track out their that would be just as good as studding a track? I'm thinking that I need more traction in my 98 SRX and I'm not sure which way to go.

Mr. Sled ,I need to notch the track and trim the protectors? Did you do this to one of your own sleds? I was looking at the woodys 1.325, to much then. Any suggestions? THANKS ALOT
 
Personally, I wouldn't waste your time. If you don't change the drivers you're going to constantly be wondering if you're gonna hit. Or you can do like I did and put in studs that don't stick up much past the lug, don't work worth a crap, and weren't worth the time or money.
