Srx 144 Long track conversion.

Mine are supposed to be too...Ive been bamboozeled...next time i will buy the entire skid. Funny how the guy who sold me the parts on this site is the least helpful in solving my problem.

Orchie, I'll drop your trailer off in the morning. I spent the day in recovery mode, just now getting up and around.

hope you get it all sorted out. i would think you issue now is the transfer rod length, everything else is close to what is should be.

would be curious to what your rear drop brackets look like as well as who sold you the parts.

check that rear scissor for the stamping number and see if its there. my mtn viper is 3" as well.

Not sure what the drop bracket is from it seems to be shorter thans staggs it is about a 1/4 below the top of the tunnel and according to the measurements should still be down another half inch, regardless I'm going to try a different pair of rods this week

Just an Update, Got some shorter adjustable rods on the way. I was going to cut my rods shorter, but hated ruining a good set of rods. Hind sight, i could have just drilled new mount holes for the longer rods. My stock viper rails have two sets of holes, one set for long rods ones for short. Could have used those measurements to drill out the for the longer rods. Oh well i will post back after i get the longer rods.

Got the shorter rods installed. Suspension seems to be working as it should, though it felt like it needed quite a bit of pressue on the rear end to get the transfer rod bolts in. I have the mtn viper cooler mounted. Is there any way that the track would com up far enough to touch the cooler. It seems like it would be imposible, but i dont want to throw studs threw the flawless cooler when the suspension compresses, any thoughts?

not sure if it would be the same for your 144 but i have a 121 with the viper mtn cooler and last winter i came in contact with it..didnt go through but put some nasty an deep marks in it...i just got finished making some homemade protectors..seems like i wont have any problems now..

The mtn vipers utilize drop brackets that drop it down quite a ways from the tunnel, it apears as if they would never hit, curious to see if anyone had an issue even with the drop brackets.

Finally almost done. Just need to button down the seat and finish polishing the tunnel. Quite a project. Hooks up strong in the hard pack, actually i almost fell off the back due to the seat not being bolted down lol. Putting 114 studs up the middle for a little traction on ice.

Took the sled out to the pipe line this morning. Its about -9 out side and the engine is running pure. The new 144 1 inch hacksaw is hooking up hard, even with out studs. I dropped a tooth on the top gear. Its unbelievable how much differnece it makes. The sled jumps to 100 mph in no time flat. Very impressed with the ride and even more impressed with how fast the sled pulls out of the hole on the hard pack and the more loose stuff. We dont have very much now to see how it climbs on top of the powder, but so far two thumbs up. Thanks for the help guys.

Andy
