If just reed spacers are added to strictly stock 2000 sx700, would it over rev on stock clutch setup, or require new jetting ? Holding off on head gasket and silencer bore right now (need to find out if too loud in VT),

no jetting required for reed spacers.Drilling out the can does give a nice sound, not really loud enough to worry about. If you do the gasket mod, remember you should only run premium fuel. After I rebuilt my 600 motor,I used the single gasket again but I guess I gained more compression and power that the single gasket would not seal well,so went back to stock gaskets..which were very expensive..:o|.Might not be worth the effort doing the gasket mod in my estimation.

Thanks again, so no need to touch the clutch after spacers right now
no,but make sure your running around 8450 to 8500 peak rpm at wot. These sleds all over rev from the factory.Mine did so at around 9000 when I got the sled.Have to then add heavier rivets in the weights to get rpm down.

Thanks. I have a lot to learn about clutches. Is there a preferred setup that everyone is running ? Also, is there a preferred vendor to buy the spacers from ?

i have a 2000 vmax 700 that now has over 11000 miles on it (i did freshen it at 10k miles but it really did not need it) i have reed spacers and high compression head gasket and my own clutch kit consisted of tsk heavy hitters and custom cut multi angle helix i do have a GYT silencer for it but i do not run it that often anymore (does make a big difference in the midrange) i have own this sled since brand new and run stock jetting except i richened the fuel screw a 1/4 turn you in the past i have raced the sled and you will find that they are there fastest when you load the motor and pull 8-8200 rpm ( i had the tach calibrated years ago and it was off by 300 rpm) even though they make there power at 8500 seems if you clutch toward the torque side a little more it helps alot the vmax and sx clutch was ok at best all suffered from over rev at the begining of the shift (600 was worse yet) ...........
