Hey guys I have a 94 vmax 600. The last ride of last year I fouled about 4 sets of plugs. The rest of the season it had run better than it ever had so I figured it was some sort of fluke. So when I went to tune it up this year, I found that some mice had made a home in the air box over the summer and it had sucked all sorts of stuff into the carb. I took the out the carb, airbox, reeds, and cleaned them all and reinstaled. Well I took it out for the first run this year and at idle it was only running on 1 hole. Every time I had to start I had to start with the choke on or it wouldnt start. I rode it around a little and it kept burning up plugs. I put 3 sets in and it burned them all. Then to top it all off, after I put the 3rd set in it flat out will not start now. It does have spark though not very strong and it does have fuel and compression. Anyone have some ideas? I am ready to burn the thing to the ground.

Step one: dont let the sled win--but if you burn it email the pics
I would pull everything back off and be sure you have clear airways---I would also check your reeds to see if you have a mouse tail holding things open or closed. Be sure to really clean those carbs--it only takes a fraction of a mouse shit to make you want to burn the sucker.
lastly, be sure you dont have a nest in the exhaust, because again air flow issue--This is usually the campsite for mice, but the first backfire usually self correcting
An actual compression test is quick, and well worth it--if you ran it hard and long on one you could have taken her last breath--

Just kidding by the way. We own 4 V-max 600's, and three V-max 4's and we've never had a problem like that with them. Not sure what to tell you. May want to take it to a qualified repair center and have it looked at. Might be worth the money... or it might not.

right off the start I would be looking at the wiring. If you had mice in the airbox I'm sure they decided to eat on somthing while under the hood.
I'd be looking for bare wires and second would be another cleaning of the carbs.
