I just got a new 1 inch hacksaw track and 1075 studs. the track isnt fully clipped and my old track is. first of all is it possible to take some clips off my old track and put them on the new one to make it fully clipped? and would it be worth it? and i wont have any problems with clearance with those studs will i? my old track was studded so i beleive theres tunnel protectors and all the goodies already there. 2000 sxr 700. any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you have the protectors in there you should be good to go for clearance. I wouldn't use old clips if it were me. I'd either run it clipped every third( like I assume it is) or I'd buy the needed clips and add them. The clips on your old track would probably be a real bear to get off the old track anyway. Just my $.02 . Gil

Its about 2/clip if you do seperate or you can buy in bulk, which is what i would recommend as they wear out and need to be replaced occasionally.

I would never re-use the clips as they would be toast when you get them off or weakened too much to trust.

or do what i did and install hyfax saver studs, or make your own outa old wore down studs..just put em in on the closed window and grind down the stud so its below the paddle of the track

alright thanks fer the input. now can i just go to a yamaha dealer and the have clips and do they have a tool to put them on or can you just use a pliers or something?
