Hello-

I put a proaction out of a 96 xt in my Vmax 4 last spring and I am now getting it out and ready to ride and have noticed a few things.

The transfer rods are always touching the top plastic shims, is that correct?
after looking at some pictures of other sleds I think i may have a moutning location wrong, I have searched for the thread I used for measurements but cant find it.

Also, how much "sag" should occour after I get on the sled, Im 165lbs and I have the preload set at the softest and it only moves 1/2", is that correct?

Any help would be great!
Thanks,

Jeremy

I thought the 96 xt suspensions were not true pro-action skids. If you used pro-action measurements they may not have been right for the 96 "quasi" pro-action skid. The 96's were more of a stepping stone to the true pro-actions that started in '97. Or so I was led to believe.

I used the measurements from the 96 xt it came out of, but added 2" to the rear to lift it a little, Im now thinking thats where I went wrong.

Anybody out there have a 96 xt that could double check the measurements for me?.

Did you just go straight down two inches or did you also take account the slight little bit that two inches down would make to the measurement from front mounting hole to rear mounting hole, you may have to move the rear mounting hole forward slightly to get the true measurement right. Ive run into that problem before, mine was totally locked up though. Good luck!

Its been a while but Im thinking I didnt account for the radius when dropping the rear of the skid.

Im going to get my sled out tomorrow and measure it up.

When mine was done all of the holes were moved forward 4 1/4 and you don't need to drop it 2" IMO if I can help PM me on vmax4.com
mine was a 94 max
I don't get on here much
