Does a special wrench come with a 2000 SRX for adjusting the suspension springs or do you need to get that at a dealer.

a hammer and a flat head screw driver works very well to break the lock nut and to be honest, I really dont use my tool. I cant remember if the spanner wrench came with or not but you can get away with out it very easily.

Shock adjustment tools i've used in the past are worthless, ...I've found the best way to adjust a shock is to remove it from the skid, clamp the adjustment ring and turn the shock with a screwdriver in the eyelet mounting hole. 
Tap the locknut (the nut away from the spring) loose with a punch (or screwdriver as noted above). Then turn both nuts by hand. If you look at the thread direction you can see which way will seperate the two nuts. I always mark first so I know where I started from.
