SLIDER profile size.

Hello everyone this might sound strange. OK looking ay buying new slides-hyfax for my sled.Aftermarket has a profile #19 or a#20.Each is of different manufacture,so which or why would they list it like this? This is for my '99 2 up venture,by the way the #20 is a thicker slide!
 
What brand are they? Some of the slides the profile will be the same, but be thicker as you described. They might be a little longer wearing, but may also be too thick to where the idler wheels won't contact the track any more.

If Garland is the manufacture they list profile 20 as the correct slide for your sled.
 
# 20 is listed for 05 and up. It will work, just a little wider and might be tight to get through the windows on the track if you still have the stock track with narrow windows.

Well fullmonte I was going to order the slides and I thought about the wheels not being able to contact the track,the slides I was looking at was KIMPEX-#19,not sure of the brand for the #20's. I'll just look closer at my old ones,I am sure they were #19's when I replaced them.And yes YAMAHA has the small diameter wheels and this is why the slides wear quickly from new then when they get to the wheel size they will not wear as fast! ;)!

Hey,hey Bluemonster thanks! You know I have saved lots of POLARIS wheels thru the years, just would like to know which ones I would change?Its a good time as I was going to go thru my bearings on the skid...
 
well you would switch all 6 lower idler wheels at the rails.How have you been??? Do you guys have enough snow now..you should..Still waiting here for a big snowfall..getting cold tonight here at -20 and some snow coming tomorrow...its a waiting game but just the way it is I guess.Nice to see you on here again..drop in a little more if you can.. ;)!

you can see in the pic my 6 Blue wheels..that's where you switch them out .. :bash:

ok BUT...

Ok but what do I do to switch them?Do I have to drill new holes,or just bolt the polaris wheels onto the rails etc.Is there a thread on doing this somewhere? Yes we have snow,not like you guys though,maybe 4"but hard to say its deeper out in the bush.Lakes are freezing good though,lots of ice fishing happening.The snow will come soon enough,yes we will keep in touch, :brr cold this weekend to, its winter!
 
unbolt them,reuse bolt and bushing,plastic bushings and bolt back up..simple as pie..we don't have much snow either,a lot melted last week..might be one of them winters again with no real snow.Water on Rivers wide open yet..gonna be bad season I think again.. :o| #$%&*
What is the price of fuel up there by the way for regular/premium???

Hey thanks bud. going to look into this for sure.Fuel H''L we up here are always screwed on fuel pricing,123.9-reg,and i'm not sure what prem. was I bought 10 litres today for mix for the chainsaw/iceauger, and I think it was 128.9?Still way too much,this is a good link too watch the gas prices-SaskGasPrices.com..take care..
 
Yea well the country thinks were just RICH miners' up here and actually fuel is 10 cents cheaper in The Pas 80 miles south! Go figure,should bring back the old ways and somebody should get you know what kicked,it's amazing how one can get ripped off from someone elses decisions! Good ole' politics!!!!
 
this seems to be a recurring theme. Original poster asks a question and somewhere down the line we end up hijacking the thread and complaining about fuel cost, new sled cost, no snow blah blah blah. Lets keep on track or start your own thread.
