whats rpm range on 2001 600 mountain max

whats max rpm on a 2001 mountain max 600. the clutch engages fairly high in my opinion. around 6000ish. would like to get it down. where to start with weights. they are 8DG now. with y/w/y spring. any one have any advice and answer to the rpm question
 
That motor makes the best power at 8400 rpm as for the 6000 rpm engagment I would say start by cleaning everything and make sure it is all stock.
I have a 700 mm but I run a kinda wild setup with polaris weights, heel clicker spring and 45 deg. helix on secondary and its a awsome setup thanks to a good friend of mine that is a clutch guru.

do u know what max rpm is
 
lifted track today off ground. clutch starts to come on at around 4200ish, i guess thats ok. no manual for this sled. just sounds like reving high to me i guess
 
engagement should be around 4400-4600 depending on altitude. too high in my opinion as it seems to lead to trenching.

peak rpms should be at 8500. try a white/silver/white or a yellow/green/yellow depending on elevation to reduce your engagement.

unfortunately manuals dont just appear when u order and need them. i thought thats what these forums are for. you could just say yes i know but i wont tell you. i appreciate the input before but really dont know why you wasted youre time with the last post. if i knew what the max was i probably wouldnt have asked.

i know that whats in there now is stock to 3000ft. im at work right now. i believe its w/y/w or y/w/y. i may try a heavier rivet in the tips to prevent over revving. it engages on the stand at around 4200ish. on the ground with rider around 5500-6000 .thats when it starts to move the sled . ill take it apart when i get home and look for a shim if theres one in there. also may look at your suggestion on different spring. thanx.

i surely wont lose sleep over it. this is good forum with lots of knowledge and good help.
 
depending on what you find in there, look at the secondary and the belt as well.

if the belt isnt properly tensioned or your clutches have a sticking or binding, could be a cause for the higher engagement. if your not overreving, i wouldnt alter the tip weight.

theres always one in every crowd. shouldnt take too long to weed out.

i did notice when we got the sled the belt was on backwards. arrows pointing toward secondary. i took it off and turned it around. did notice was very tight getting it off. dont think that is the issue though. just seemed very tight getting it over the secondary. will look at everything when i get home. thanx for the input.
