1993 phazer clutch ??

What is the shield for on the outside and inside of the secondary clutch?

Also, would it be beneficial to change out clutches and out in a newer style yammy secondary? My dad has a 96 and it has the newer style clutch just wondering if it would be as simple and getting a used secondary and new spring or would the primary need work also?

Where should the belt sit too, and how do you adjust it on these older clutches?

They keep the fins on the secondary from robbing power like a fan and weight very little.
